Tsavo national park is one of the largest and oldest national reserves in Kenya that covers an area of 13,747 square kilometers and it was gazetted in 1948. The national reserve has been bisected into two such as Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Tsavo national park is located in the semi-desert region and it was named after the Tsavo river that flows west to east crossing the park

Tsavo East is famous for the huge population of elephants that are fond of bathing in the red dust, it offers awesome views of the semi-arid lush plains that offer breathe taking game viewing experience, the yatta plateau, mutanda rock views, birdlife species, laggard falls flowing in crocodile pool as well as scenic rapids which make it a wonderful place to take snapshots. Wildlife animals in Tsavo east include the lions, the hyenas, gazelles, cape buffalos, giraffes, impalas, zebras, rhinoceros, waterbucks among others

Tsavo West covers an area of 9065 square kilometers and it is blessed with amazing sceneries and its bird’s paradise home to Chaimu crater plus the amazing springs such as Mzima springs among others that host huge populations of hippos and crocodiles. Tsavo West is dominated by the dense vegetation that offers awesome beautiful landscape scenery towards shadows

Tsavo national park is open to tourists any time of the year and the park receives two rainy seasons that come in march and May which are associated with heavy rains thus making game viewing difficult and in the month of October to December which is a period of fewer rains thus favoring game viewing experience in the park.

The average temperature is 27 to 31 degrees Celsius in the day hours and in the night hours the average temperature ranges from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius

Tsavo can be accessed by road or air or rail transport and on-road transport it is about 333 kilometers from Nairobi town to Voi gate from Mombasa to Bachuma gate is about 173 kilometers
